Summary
Join the Ethereum Foundation as a contractor to contribute to the growth of the Ethereum ecosystem in Argentina, focusing on Devconnect. This full-time role until Devconnect involves fostering connections with local communities, supporting grassroots initiatives, engaging the Argentine community in Devconnect, and preparing the global community for the event in Argentina. You will build relationships with key leaders, understand existing initiatives, and brainstorm ways to involve the regional community. The role requires fluency in Spanish and English, deep Ethereum knowledge, and experience in event organization. The position is fully remote except for in-person participation during Devconnect.
Requirements
- Be based in Argentina and flexible to travel within the region
- Be fluent in Spanish and English (both written and spoken)
- Be familiar with and actively involved in the Argentine Ethereum ecosystem and community
- Have deep knowledge about Ethereum, its use cases, values, and the impact we aim to achieve
- Be self-directed: capable of taking on tasks with minimal guidance, expanding on them appropriately, and seeing them through to completion
- Be available for a full-time commitment until Devconnect
- Be able to meet and respond to messages at varying hours to accommodate a globally distributed remote team across multiple time zones (primarily the Americas and Europe)
- Have a valid passport and the ability to travel to Buenos Aires for Devconnect in November 2024, as well as other community events worldwide and in Argentina
Responsibilities
- Contribute to a broader effort to bring Argentina on-chain, beyond Devconnect
- Help accelerate Ethereum adoption by fostering connections and relationships with local municipalities, policymakers, institutions, applications, and communities
- Facilitate collaborations between traditional organizations and Ethereum-based applications
- Onboard local merchants to accept stablecoins
- Initiate pilot programs
- Support grassroots community efforts, educational meetups, and other initiatives across Argentina
- Research existing initiatives, identify key locations, groups, and leaders
- Help determine the best ways to support these efforts
- Feature local projects, applications and speakers into Devconnect
- Make events accessible through ticket discounts and increased awareness
- Encourage collaboration among local and global communities
- Increase attendance from Argentina, focusing on newcomers
- Identify and connect with the communities we want represented at Devconnect
- Help ensure that people from around the world are informed and prepared to make the most of their visit—both during Devconnect and if they choose to stay longer
- Assist the broader Devconnect team as needed, even on tasks outside this direct role—including less glamorous logistical or on-the-ground production-related efforts
Preferred Qualifications
Have experience in participating in and/or organizing events or conferences
