Logistics Data Scientist

Summary

Kitsch is seeking a Logistics Data Scientist to optimize their logistics operations, manage order and returns, shipping and cost analysis, advanced analytics, sustainability, inventory and risk management, and collaborate with business stakeholders. The role requires a degree in Data Science or related field, proficiency in SQL, Python, R, and other analytics tools, and experience in logistics and data analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Operations Research, or related field
• Proven experience in logistics and data analysis
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, and other analytics tools
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Experience manipulating raw data to meet business requests
• Working knowledge of warehouse management systems, inventory control best practices, and ShipStation; Shopify experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and within a team on multiple projects, receiving instructions from several people and meeting project deadlines

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize the process of optimizing picking batches for direct-to-consumer orders
• Oversee statistics on returns, analyze costs, and develop strategies to minimize losses while enhancing customer satisfaction
• Address issues with missing orders in ShipStation and implement preventive measures
• Regularly review and analyze freight costs to identify and implement cost-saving strategies
• Use predictive modeling and machine learning to optimize inventory and forecasting
• Establish and track KPIs to gauge and improve logistics performance
• Develop strategies to reduce the environmental impact of shipping and returns
• Leverage customer feedback to improve the shipping and returns processes
• Collaborate with supply chain to manage and predict inventory needs
• Identify risks in the logistics process and develop mitigation strategies
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs, develop, and deliver KPIs and scorecards
