Remote Machine Learning Engineer

Summary

Join Samsara's ML Experience team and contribute to developing end-to-end ML applications that enhance the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of physical operations. As an Applied Scientist, you will work closely with engineering teams and cross-functional partners to deliver core infrastructure, services, and optimizations.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 2+ years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, or similar role
• Strong proficiency in one or more common languages (e.g., Python, C++, Golang, Java)
• Proficiency with common ML tools and frameworks
• Comfortable with full-stack/backend development
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, with a solid understanding of software development lifecycle processes

Responsibilities

• Drive zero-to-one new ML initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional partners
• Stay connected to industry and academic research, adopting novel technologies that suit Samsara’s needs
• Design, develop, and optimize services and system components across the end-to-end ML pipeline
• Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
