Manager, Analytics Engineering

Summary

Join Wealthsimple's Financial Operating System (FOS) domain as an experienced Analytics Engineering leader. You will manage a team of data scientists and analytics developers, building robust data models in cloud data warehouses. This role involves optimizing data infrastructure, enhancing data models, and driving data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytics skills, leadership experience, and the ability to translate technical concepts into actionable business strategies. You will partner with Product and Engineering teams on high-priority initiatives, setting organizational standards and influencing the data science and engineering culture. Work remotely from anywhere in Canada.

• Proven track record in designing and implementing robust data pipelines and complex data transformations

Responsibilities

• Manage the partnership with our Product and Engineering teams to support works across some of Wealthsimple's highest priority efforts
• Lead a best-in-class team of data scientists and analytics developers and grow each individual
• Build robust, efficient, and integrated data models in cloud data warehouses that will be used as the source of truth for analytics across the Investing product organization
• Set organizational standards and influence our data science and engineering culture
• Apply software engineering best practices like version control and continuous integration to the analytics code base; ensure data models are well tested, documented, and maintained
• Translate business requirements into data models and analysis that will help stakeholders answer key business questions and inform strategic decisions
• Continuously look for the simplest, most effective way to approach challenges; Occam's razor is your friend
• Take ownership and ship it
