Join Databricks' Machine Learning (ML) Practice team in India as a Manager, leading and growing a team focused on cutting-edge ML and GenAI applications. You will manage hiring, onboarding, and team growth, aiming to double the team size within a year. This role involves developing key customer and partner relationships, scoping engagements, and managing escalations. Collaboration with various teams, including R&D, is crucial for defining priorities and influencing product roadmaps. You will lead strategic initiatives, practice development, and processes, while owning OKRs for revenue and utilization. Based remotely with a preference for Bangalore, this position requires a strong technical understanding of data science, ML, and GenAI.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience managing, hiring, and building a team of motivated data scientists/ML engineers, including establishing programs and processes
  • Deep hands-on technical understanding of data science, ML, GenAI and the latest trends
  • While managers do not deliver customer engagements directly, we expect that individuals are able to get hands-on in the Databricks product to demo to customers, dogfood product features to provide input to R&D, etc
  • Experience building production-grade machine learning deployments on AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Passion for collaboration, life-long learning, and driving business value through ML

  • Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, etc.) or equivalent practical experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage hiring, onboarding, and growing the ML Practice team in India, roughly doubling the team size by the end of the year
  • Develop relationships with key customers and partners, scope customer engagements, and manage escalations
  • Align with Professional Services and Sales leaders both in the Global Delivery Center and globally
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with the R&D team to define priorities and influence the product roadmap
  • Lead strategic PS initiatives, practice development, and processes
  • Own OKRs for revenue and utilization, with a focus on driving Databricks consumption
  • Lead Databricks cultural values by example and champion Databricks brand

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Databricks and Apache Spark
  • Experience working in a customer-facing role
