Requirements

  • Degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or journalism
  • 5+ years of experience in public relations or a comparable field
  • Proven track record of securing industry and top-tier media coverage
  • Ability to build relationships with educational and top-tier media outlets/sources
  • Strong research, writing, and editing skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Flair for visual storytelling with excellent presentation and delivery skills
  • Excellent program management skills, supervise and measure program performance, and make constant improvements
  • Experience working in a global matrixed organization, leading virtual, multi-cultural teams to achieve desired goals
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Aptitude in presentation and public speaking
  • Attention to details
  • Experience using Meltwater and other newswire services
  • A self-starter who is driven by success, with the ability to manage programs proactively without receiving step-by-step instructions and guidance
  • Ability to track outcomes and work toward KPIs

Responsibilities

  • Manage Instructure’s day-to-day K-12 NORAM communications strategy focused on key K-12 initiatives and marketing campaigns
  • Maintain messaging/storytelling for K-12 target audiences
  • Proactively translate product features and messaging into consumable audience content by liaising directly with the product team
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with K-12 media outlets, reporters, and influencers, leveraging them for opportunistic media coverage
  • Identify and target campaigns around specific K-12 target audiences including, but not limited to, Instructure K-12 product users, K-12 product decision-makers, potential K-12 Instructure product users, K-12 event attendees/potential attendees, and K-12 Community members
  • Research, write, and edit K-12 product- and news-related content such as blogs, podcast scripts, speaking opportunities, bylined content, media pitches, and press releases
  • Strategize K-12 pitching/story package development including ownership over building briefing sheets and properly briefing stakeholders for those media opportunities
  • Leverage the broader Comms team for K-12 strategy and ideation
  • Collaborate on Corporate, Higher Ed and Pro-Learn media campaign messaging as needed
  • Produce and manage the InstructureCast podcasts, featuring content and SMEs across all company segments
  • Manage all Instructure Awards entries, deadlines, budget, and promotion
