Summary

Join Western Digital's SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting team as a key contributor to all external financial reporting, including SEC filings and investor communications. You will manage the preparation of financial statements, oversee accounting for the company's capital structure and equity compensation plans, and monitor new accounting standards. This role requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree in accounting, a CPA license, and 4+ years of relevant experience, including SEC reporting and GAAP. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and hold a CPA
  • 4+ years of experience with complex accounting including SEC reporting and GAAP

Responsibilities

  • Manage periodic filings with the SEC, including preparation of financial statements and related notes, MD&A, and other disclosures
  • Prepare financial statements and presentations for quarterly earnings releases and file related Form 8-K
  • Review and tie-out Proxy financial disclosures
  • Manage preparation of financial statements for 401(k) Plan and filing of Form 5500
  • Oversee accounting for company's capital structure (debt and equity)
  • Oversee accounting for equity compensation plans
  • Monitor and researching new accounting standards, summarizing and communicating impacts to executives and Audit Committee, and leading process changes where necessary to respond to new requirements
  • Analyze and understanding complex transactions, applying complex accounting standards to those transactions, developing solutions to problems and effectively communicating the results to stakeholders
  • Collaborate effectively with internal clients, including General Accounting, IT, Treasury, Strategic Investments, Legal, Internal Audit, Real Estate Operations
  • Liaise with external auditors and company stakeholders to manage effective and efficient audit execution

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in Public Accounting (Big 4)
  • Experience with Workiva
