As a Engineering Leader in the Text and Vector team, you will partner with Product and Design to build and execute a long-term roadmap for a world-class tool set and user experience. This full-time role can be based in one of Figma's US hubs or remotely in the United States. Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience managing and leading a high output engineering team
  • 5+ years of experience building and maintaining scalable software systems
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in building a high-performing and highly engaged engineering team; including a proven track record of motivating, mentoring, and guiding senior engineers, and hiring top industry talent
  • Demonstrated exceptional ability to work cross-functionally across Product, Design, and Marketing, as well as collaborating with other engineering teams to ship both customer and internal-facing projects
  • Technical curiosity - you should be ready to learn and grow alongside your team - and a love of design and craft

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product and Design to build and execute on a long-term roadmap that ensures a world-class tool set and user experience for Designers in Figma
  • Work closely with cross-functional partners and other engineering teams to push the envelope for craft and quality in Figma Design
  • Hire, manage, support and develop a team of engineers, including staff level engineers
  • Partner with product and engineering leadership to set strategy, priorities, and mission for teams and projects
  • Establish trust within and across teams by creating accountability and a positive work environment in partnership with other leaders in the organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in the front-end, including working with WebAssembly and React
  • Experience working with modern web browser internals and performance
