Math Diagram Designer

Summary

Join Open Up Resources as a temporary Math Diagram Designer to recreate math images and diagrams for our PK–5 Mathematics curriculum. This role involves collaborating with the Product team to define image requirements, ensuring consistency in diagram recreation, and managing the delivery process. You will work with Project Managers to synchronize schedules, receive feedback, and communicate specifications to contractors and internal teams. The position requires expertise in K–5 mathematics, proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, and strong organizational and time management skills. This is a remote, non-benefited, contracted position.

Requirements

• Expertise in K–5 Mathematics
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and experience creating SVG files. Must be able to ensure all images align with our established brand guidelines
• Ability to quickly grasp new processes and workflows, adapting to our diagram creation process efficiently
• Excellent ability to manage tasks in a virtual environment, with proven experience handling competing priorities and meeting deadlines
• Proven track record of taking ownership of tasks and delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Exceptional attention to detail, especially in ensuring diagrams are precise while managing multiple priorities simultaneously
• Ability to foster a positive and collaborative remote team environment, embracing real-time communication and teamwork

Responsibilities

• Recreate placeholder math diagrams with consistency
• Collaborate Product team to define and scope image requirements
• Meet regularly with the Product team to get final approval for images
• Document and manage the image recreation delivery process
• Collaborate with Project Managers to sync schedules and progress
• Receive feedback and adjust as necessary
• Communicate required specifications to contractors, vendors, and internal teams
• Verify that all delivered images meet technical and instructional specifications
• Work with the Product team to ensure all placeholder images are replaced in CMS with final recreated images

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior teaching experience, familiarity with pedagogy, or curriculum development experience
• Candidates who have lived experience related to social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion
