Join Study Group as a Variable Hours โ€“ Fixed Term Maths Instructor in Brighton! Teach the โ€˜Digital SAT Mathsโ€™ module online to high school students (16-18) in the Middle East, preparing them for the North American College Board Digital SAT Maths test. Responsibilities include planning and preparing digital lessons, assisting in module development, providing student feedback, creating assessments, maintaining the virtual learning environment (VLE), and participating in regular meetings. The ideal candidate possesses a related degree, teaching experience in a Further Education or High School setting, and fluency in English. Experience with digital online programs and international students is desirable.

Requirements

  • Have a degree or equivalent in a related subject area
  • Have fluent spoken and written English
  • Have teaching experience, delivering Mathematics programmes within a Further Education or High School context

Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare digital online lessons in line with SGDL expectations, using appropriate teaching methods and resources
  • Assist in the development of modules from existing module specifications
  • Provide feedback and direction to students in self-study and assessment preparation tasks
  • Prepare module examinations and other forms of formative assessment, marking, and providing quality feedback to students
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of the virtual learning environment (VLE)
  • Provide input for related modules to the annual review and reporting process
  • Review your own professional development and identify any training needs
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date record of student attendance
  • Provide continual feedback on student performance and participation
  • Provide, when/if required, academic learning support to a small number of students
  • Participate in regular meetings with both teaching and support staff
  • Support with any other tasks or activities to support digital students learning, experience, or progression needs as set by the Digital Academic Programme Lead

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have a recognised teaching qualification
  • Have teaching experience in digital online programmes
  • Have experience of working with international students
