MDS Agent / File Assessor

Summary

Join ISTA Personnel Solutions South Africa as an MDS Agent / File Assessor and work remotely from South Africa, ensuring accurate and compliant completion of federally mandated assessments for nursing home residents. You will play a crucial role in driving individualized care plans, determining reimbursements, and supporting facility quality ratings. This role offers a meaningful impact on resident care by accurately assessing and documenting their needs. The position requires working US hours (with training from 11am-8pm and then 7am-4pm South African time) and having a reliable internet connection (25 Mbps upload and download) and power backup. Requirements

• Possess a fixed fibre line with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps for both upload and download, capable of supporting a wired Ethernet connection
• Have a power backup solution to manage loadshedding or power outages
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking abilities
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance
• Technologically savvy and comfortable learning new software systems for remote access and record management

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly review and analyze nursing home residents’ clinical records
• Accurately answer assessment questions for each resident, following specific guidelines and protocols
• Apply clinical judgment and critical thinking to ensure the assessments reflect an accurate picture of the resident’s care needs
• Utilize software systems to remotely access, review, and document clinical records securely

Preferred Qualifications

• Clinical background preferred, such as a licensed nurse or similar, to facilitate the understanding and evaluation of clinical records will be an added benefit
• Experience as a File Assessor or a similar role involving document review and data entry is a plus
• Familiarity with completing federally mandated assessments (e.g., MDS assessments) is a plus but not required; comprehensive training will be provided
