Medical Assistant, LPN

Summary

Join Valera Health, a tele-mental health company, as a remote Medical Assistant supporting physicians and nurse practitioners. Requirements

• Associate degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferrer
• Ability to interface with providers and company-wide leadership teams
• Comfort with working from home on a remote team
• Self-starter, proactive attitude
• Experience working within an EMR
• LPN Required

Responsibilities

• Support MD’s/NP’s with patient phone calls and messages
• Monitor refill email ([email protected]) and the prescription refill feature on the Valera care manager app throughout the business day
• Triage patient calls with urgent medication/refill requests during business hours
• Complete prior authorizations for prescription medications utilizing cover my meds, etc
• Support patient after prescriber visit with labs or EKG orders, as necessary; obtaining results if necessary
• Authorize routine prescription refills based on specific protocol outlined in Medical Assistant manual

Preferred Qualifications

• Have an interest in behavioral health and use passion, compassion, and care to serve patients with behavioral health needs
• Are comfortable with technology and using different platforms simultaneously
• Are detail-oriented, organized, and able to juggle different priorities
• Two years of experience in a medical or mental health practice setting is strongly preferred
