Join Natera as a Medical Director, Oncology, specializing in GU cancers, to shape the future of cancer care. This strategic leadership role involves providing medical expertise for Natera's oncology portfolio, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the scientific integrity and clinical adoption of their oncology testing solutions. You will lead the development and implementation of clinical strategies for Natera's oncology products, focusing on GU cancers, and oversee medical education and scientific communication for healthcare providers. As a representative of Natera, you will participate in medical conferences and industry events, fostering a culture of scientific excellence within the oncology team. You will also collaborate with research and development teams on clinical trial design, data analysis, and publication.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge in GU (preferably bladder and kidney) cancers, with the ability to develop and implement strategies specific to GU oncology
- Ability to speak to all histologies and indications, ensuring broad expertise across the oncology spectrum
- Work effectively with cross-functional teams including research, development, commercial, and medical affairs to drive the success of oncology initiatives
- M.D. or D.O. degree with board certification in Oncology (required)
- At least 5 years of experience in oncology (required), with a background in clinical research and development (preferred)
- Associate/full Medical Director designation commensurate with experience
- Ability to quickly learn Nateraβs technology and that of our competitors, understanding the strengths and limitations of each, and articulate strong customer value propositions
- Effective written and oral communication skills, with strong persuasive abilities and quick thinking
- Project management skills, with the ability to balance and execute multiple projects simultaneously
- Proven team player, capable of participating as a member of a cross-disciplinary team
- Ability to manage conflict with poise
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer and other Medical Directors in Oncology on the clinical development of ctDNA-based diagnostics
- Lead development and implementation of clinical strategies for Natera's oncology products, with a focus on GU cancers
- Oversee medical education and scientific communication for healthcare providers on Natera's oncology offerings
- Partner with the commercial team to develop and deliver compelling medical messages for Natera's oncology products
- Represent Natera at medical conferences and industry events, in person and virtual
- Foster a culture of scientific excellence and intellectual curiosity within the oncology team
- Collaborate with research and development teams on clinical trial design, data analysis, and publication
- Provide expert guidance and support on GU oncology cases and clinical trials
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in various cancer types and integrate this knowledge into Nateraβs oncology products
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the clinical relevance and adoption of Nateraβs oncology solutions
Preferred Qualifications
- Clinical experience and strong knowledge in GU cancer (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of clinical trial methodology, protocol development, regulatory and compliance requirements, statistics, and epidemiology is preferred
