Medical Translator

Summary

Join Ada, a healthcare technology company, as a part-time, freelance Swahili Medical Translator. This fully remote position requires up to 8 hours per month. You will translate medical content between English and Swahili across Ada's products. Support will be provided to Swahili-speaking partners and the marketing localization team. The role necessitates utilizing in-house tools for communication and collaboration. Ada values inclusivity and encourages applications from diverse backgrounds.

Requirements

• Medical approbation or a license to practice medicine in the country of study (or you could be a student currently enrolled in a medical course at university)
• Native-level fluency in Swahili AND professional fluency in English
• Good command of Swahili grammar and complex vocabulary
• Excellent time management skills, excellent communication and the ability to work to deadlines within a cross functional environment
• Good level of computer literacy (Windows, Google Sheets, OS X, MS-Office, etc.) and software understanding

Responsibilities

• Translate medical and other relevant content from English to Swahili across Ada’s products, including the consumer app and client-facing services
• Support with Swahili speaking partner requests
• Support the localization team in Marketing with translation for UX copy for Ada’s client and user-facing products, including our app
• Utilize our in-house tools to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous medical translation experience
• Previous experience of working in a corporate environment
