Remote Medical Writer/Copy Lead

Summary

We are seeking a highly capable and innovative Freelance Medical Writer and Copy Lead to join our dynamic team. The candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality scientific and medical content, managing multiple projects, conducting research and literature reviews, interfacing with clients, demonstrating strategic thinking, and acting as a mentor. Extensive experience in medical communications is required, along with an advanced degree in Life Sciences and proficiency in various software tools.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in medical communications, ideally within an agency environment
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize and present complex information clearly and persuasively
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to foster strong client and team relationships

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality scientific and medical content that exceeds client expectations across a variety of platforms and therapeutic areas
• Efficiently manage multiple medical communications projects, ensuring adherence to deadlines, budgets, and client briefs
• Conduct thorough research and literature reviews, synthesize scientific data, and craft compelling scientific narratives and messaging that align with client business goals
• Interface confidently and independently with clients via email, audio/video-conferences, and in-person meetings; actively contribute to and present at client meetings
• Demonstrate strategic thinking in collaboration with medical strategy teams during internal meetings and proposal development workshops
• Act as a mentor to associate medical writers, providing guidance and support on projects while fostering an environment of diversity and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Life Sciences
• Proficiency in scientific databases, approval software, referencing software, and AI tools
