Summary
Join the Medical Education Readiness Program (MERP) as a recent AUC or RUSM graduate and contribute to the success of aspiring medical students. This remote position offers teaching responsibilities and mentoring opportunities, allowing you to build your medical educational portfolio. You will assist faculty, design test questions, proctor exams, and guide students. The role requires strong communication and teaching skills, a 3.0 GPA in basic sciences, and experience with online platforms. MERP graduates are preferred but not required. Requirements
- Be a recent American University of the Caribbean SOM (AUC) or Ross University School of Medicine (RUSM) graduate
- Have successfully completed the basic sciences
- Have a 3.0 GPA in basic sciences
- Have satisfactory or better grades in all activities undertaken as RUSM or AUC student, including satisfactory or better performance on NBME qualifying exams
- Possess excellent communication skills in English
- Possess a desire for self-improvement and a strong work ethic
- Possess flexibility and the ability to work well on a team
- Have a basic understanding of and some experience with online platforms such as Teams
Responsibilities
- Attend all subject lectures for the first semester and thereafter as assigned
- Be available Monday through Friday, and occasional weekends and evenings for MERP related events
- Attend various required MERP activities as assigned with the expectation of being able to conduct small group review sessions
- Use clinical knowledge to assist with the development of clinical case activities
- Serve as mentors and educators to a cohort of students, maintaining close communication with each student, and provide guidance
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Comply with all policies and standard
- Assist faculty and staff in all areas of MERP instruction and other activities as assigned
- Assist in areas including, but not limited to, test question design, proctoring exams, assisting student learning, providing guidance on test taking skills, conducting academic success sessions, providing teaching assistance in the lab, delivering PowerPoint presentations, participating in the grading process, conducting weekly reviews of subjects assigned, and other activities as assigned

- Be a graduate of MERP
- Possess strong teaching skills and experience
