Requirements

• Familiarity with the following microbial techniques: membrane filtration, pour plating, streaking
• Maintain proper lab 5S, routinely check lab inventory and report expendable supplies/materials needed for testing requirements
• Perform all activities in a neat, safe, hygienic, and efficient manner
• Properly document and record all information
• Familiarity with lab ware. Familiarity of proper GDP and GMP
• BS degree in microbiology or related field is required
• A minimum of 1+ years of Quality Assurance or Microbiological testing experience in the cosmetic, nutritional, or pharmaceutical industries
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to adapt to changes to improve company processes
• Ability to carry up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time
• Ability to work well with other team members is required

Responsibilities

• Bioburden panel testing
• Total plate count, Total combined yeast and mold count, enrichment testing
• Test for specific microorganisms (pathogens)
• Media growth promotion testing
• Microbiological examination of water
• Environmental monitoring of air, equipment, and surfaces
• Microscopic examination and identification
• Water conductivity
• Plate reading. And apply aseptic techniques in daily workload
• Use the autoclave to sanitize consumables and biohazardous waste
• Perform quality control monitoring by taking incubator temperatures, inoculating control organisms, running media controls, etc
• Back up to other analysts
