Join Chamberlain University as a Visiting Professor and share your expertise in microbiology with undergraduate BSN nursing students. This part-time position involves teaching Fundamentals of Microbiology with Lab (BIOS-242) in Troy, MI, on Monday and Thursday evenings (6 pm-9 pm). The course covers basic microbiology concepts, focusing on medically important microorganisms and infectious diseases. You will develop and deliver course materials, utilize online technologies, and provide timely feedback to students. Requirements
- Earned a master's or doctorate degree in Microbiology, Biology or very closely related field with a required minimum of 18 or more graduate credit hours earned directly in microbiology
- Have taught or been told you’re a “natural” at teaching and helping others learn
- Possess genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning
- Have exceptional subject matter expertise as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Are eager to serve students and colleagues with passion, respect and care
- Operate with a sense of responsibility and purpose with the desire to enrich colleagues, students and the broader community

- Are able to provide official transcripts for all earned degrees from a regionally accredited institution (or a NACES approved US course-by-course equivalency evaluation for degrees earned and conferred outside of the US)
Responsibilities
- Develops and provides students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives
- Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and update all course materials
- Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students
- Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning
- Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories
- Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives
- Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students
- Completes other duties as assigned
- Performs other duties as assigned
