Mid Backend Software Engineer

Summary

Join Belvo, an open finance API platform, and contribute to the development and maintenance of private and public APIs for innovative payment products in Latin America. Design robust software architecture and infrastructure to support regulated payments. Build excellent documentation, SDKs, and client libraries, focusing on enhancing the developer experience. Be customer-focused, proactively identifying and addressing improvements and pain points. Manage API retro compatibility, document changes, and implement deprecation plans. Implement automated quality assurance and monitoring modules. Collaborate with a pioneering team in a fast-paced environment to lead payments development in Brazil. This role requires a strong background in software engineering, REST API design, and Python.

Requirements

• You have 2+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
• You have a degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
• You have a strong experience designing and developing REST APIs
• You have professional experience with Python
• You appreciate good documentation, internal and external
• You are a detail-oriented and well-organized developer, coding so others can read and work with your code
• You have a willingness to solve difficult and demanding problems
• You can balance time-to-market with a heavily regulated and secured environment
• You are proficient in written and spoken English

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain private and public facing APIs for growing and innovative payments products, considering highly regulated environments in Latin America
• Create a robust software architecture and infrastructure to support regulated payments environments and payment methods in Brazil
• Build excellent documentation, SDKs, and client libraries. Continuously improve the “developer experience” of Belvo’s platform
• Be customer-focused, and think as a user of our APIs. Proactively understand and tackle potential improvements and customer pain points
• Carefully manage API retro compatibility, document API changes, and implement deprecation plans
• Implement automated quality assurance and monitoring modules
• Act in a pioneering and collaborative team with growing challenges and fast development pace to be at the forefront of payments development in Brazil

Preferred Qualifications

• You have Fintech and SaaS past experiences
• You have worked with payment initiation products before (Pix / Open Finance - Brazil)
• You have knowledge of regulation implementation in Latam (Pix / Open Finance - Brazil)
