Mid Data Scientist

Summary

Join Encora as a Mid Data Scientist and be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient software applications. Lead technical projects, mentor junior engineers, and continuously improve software development practices. Build and refine supervised and unsupervised models across multiple domains. Explore and clean data from varied sources, ensuring completeness and fitness for modeling. This role requires extensive experience in software development and applied data science.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
• Extensive experience in software development with a focus on designing and building scalable applications
• Professional/ Advanced English skills
• Have 3 to 6 years of experience in applied data science and/or machine learning
• Possess strong Python skills and are comfortable working in Jupyter, Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn. Familiarity with TensorFlow or PyTorch is a plus
• Are well-versed in statistical validation techniques and experiment design
• Have experience with real-world messy data – and care deeply about data cleanliness and reproducibility
• Have built and deployed models in production environments, ideally using batch or API-based deployment patterns
• Have deployed ML models into production, and are comfortable thinking about stability, observability, and model lifecycle
• Communicate clearly and are comfortable working asynchronously across teams and time zones

Responsibilities

• Build and refine supervised and unsupervised models across multiple domains (ex., booked vs. blocked detection, pricing models, demand forecasting)
• Explore and clean data from varied sources, ensuring completeness and fitness for modeling
• Engineer features from time-series, tabular, and event-based data
