Summary
Join Very Good Ventures as an Engineer II and play a key role in developing software solutions for diverse clients. Collaborate with a talented team to build elegant solutions using cutting-edge technologies, focusing on Flutter and other relevant stacks. Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing and deployment. Work on complex projects for clients such as Toyota, Google, and Dow Jones. The role requires 1-3 years of professional software engineering experience, proficiency in at least one technology stack, and strong collaboration skills. Requirements
- Demonstrate a professional understanding of software development fundamentals, including object-oriented programming
- Show proficiency in advanced topics such as dependency injection, end-to-end testing, architecture, modularization, database design, and REST APIs
- Proficiently use tools like Git, command line, and UNIX commands
- Contribute code to multiple technology stacks
- Provide effective code reviews
- Participate in planning and estimating software features
- Lead code-pairing sessions
- Be punctual to meetings and team ceremonies
- Provide detailed status updates
- Complete project tasks timely
- Onboard new teammates
- Articulate solutions and implementations
- Seek help when blocked
- Offer support to others
- Share learning experiences through various channels
- Contribute to VGV resources
- 1 to 3 years of experience working professionally (and full-time) as a software engineer
- Positive recommendations from previous managers and teammates
- Proven proficiency with one technology stack (for example, Flutter or Firebase)
- Basic understanding of more than one technology stack
Responsibilities
- Develop software solutions and automated tests for complex problems
- Write code that follows VGV standards
- Write unit, widget, and integration tests
- Pair program with colleagues
- Collaborate with designers and product managers
- Define and execute project delivery plans
