Responsibilities

• Research, source, pitch, and write several stories each day, including breaking news, original news and features, interviews, and exclusives
• Obtain source and expert comments and use authoritative primary sources
• Produce vibrant, concise and clean copy to deadline
• Monitor social media and Google Trends to find and identify stories and topics of interest to a predominantly U.S. audience
• Ensure high-quality coverage that is accurate, fair, and conforms to accepted standards of journalism
• Research, source, pitch, and write several stories each day
• Scour multiple social media for stories and emerging trends
• Check facts and sources and ensure content is of the highest possible standard
• Ensure that all stories published conform to Newsweek’s standards
• Deliver high-quality reporting that is accurate, fair, and conforms to accepted standards of journalism

Preferred Qualifications

• Have experience and familiarity covering Middle East news and trends
• Have the ability to read and speak Arabic or Farsi
