Mid/Senior Data Scientist

Join Dataplace, a Polish-Portuguese startup in geoanalytics and machine learning, as a Mid/Senior Data Scientist! We help major retail, media, FMCG, and banking companies make strategic business decisions using location data from millions of mobile users. You will work on large datasets, machine learning models, and spatial data within our SaaS products, client projects, and a large R&D project. Your responsibilities include model creation and maintenance, geospatial analysis, Python programming, Big Data processing, R&D contributions, documentation, and team support. Requirements

• Experience (at least 3 years) in data science, including solving business problems based on data exploration and machine learning
• Knowledge of methods for creating predictive models
• Practical knowledge and skills in working with databases using SQL
• Knowledge and experience in programming in Python
• Knowledge of PySpark in the context of working with large datasets (on the Databricks platform)
• Knowledge of econometrics and statistics
• Ability to cooperate with clients to understand their needs and business correlations of the analyzed data
• Ability to select methods and tools for data analysis, visualization, and presentation
• Ability to expertly draw conclusions based on numbers and communicate them to the business
• Independence, commitment and sense of responsibility for the analyses created
• Knowledge of English allowing for fluent communication (spoken and written)

Responsibilities

• Work with machine learning models – create, implement, and maintain machine learning models using linear and logistic regression algorithms, classification, decision trees, etc
• Geospatial analytics – work with location-based data to identify dependencies and insights that will enrich clients' decision-making processes
• Object-oriented programming in Python – develop and maintain our Location Intelligence platform
• Work with Big Data – process large amounts of data using technology and tools such as PySpark, SQL, Databricks, AWS S3
• Participation in R&D work – participate in research work on the development of our spatial data processing technology
• Develop and maintain project documentation
• Technical support for junior members of the Data Science team
• Close cooperation with the Sales team – proposing analytical solutions, presenting recommendations, estimating resource requirements
• Preparing and presenting the results of the analyses carried out, also through their visualization
• Sporadic conducting of workshops for new and existing clients

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with AWS
• Ability to work on Snowflake
• Experience working with spatial data
