Mid-Senior Shopify and Wordpress Developer

Summary

Join our team as a part-time Mid/Senior Shopify & WordPress Developer! You will maintain, customize, and optimize Shopify stores and develop WordPress websites. Collaborate with our team to ensure client websites are functional and secure. This role requires 4+ years of experience in both Shopify and WordPress development, proficiency in front-end technologies, and strong problem-solving skills. The position is remote, offering 20 hours per week of work Monday-Friday. We value authenticity and encourage you to apply with your own words.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience with Shopify development, including Liquid coding, theme customization, and app integration
• 4+ years of experience with WordPress, including custom theme and plugin development
• Proficiency in front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery)
• Familiarity with PHP for WordPress and Liquid for Shopify
• Understanding of SEO best practices and performance optimization for web development
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Knowledge of third-party APIs and integrations
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day maintenance of Shopify stores, including updates, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
• Customize Shopify themes to align with client branding and functionality requirements
• Implement and optimize Shopify apps for enhanced store capabilities
• Design, develop, and maintain WordPress websites, including custom themes and plugins
• Ensure WordPress websites are secure, fast, and user-friendly
• Perform updates, backups, and other routine maintenance tasks
• Collaborate with designers, marketers, and other stakeholders to develop solutions that meet project objectives
• Debug and resolve issues with website functionality and integrations
• Test websites across multiple browsers and devices for compatibility
• Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in Shopify and WordPress development
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align website functionality with business goals
• Document processes and provide technical support as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with e-commerce integrations, such as payment gateways and inventory management systems
• Familiarity with page-building tools (e.g., Elementor, WPBakery)
• Knowledge of Shopify Plus features and capabilities
