Motion Design Fellow

Summary

Join our team as a motion design fellow to create animations and videos for the So Expensive video team. As a fellow, you will spend six months learning from a newsroom full of passionate journalists, producing real work that is distributed to our audience of millions. This paid role requires you to work for 40 hours a week, with opportunities for hybrid remote work.

Requirements

• A passion for visual storytelling through animations
• An ability to quickly storyboard from scripts into videos that will be shared across platforms
• Proofreading and copywriting skills
• Experience shooting with Canon, Panasonic, and Sony cameras is a plus
• Experience video editing in Adobe Premiere is a plus

Responsibilities

• Quickly execute visually engaging animations that elevate our videos, which will be shared across platforms
• Identify and create relevant graphics such as graphs, maps, text elements, motion graphics templates, backgrounds, and more
• Collaborate with the larger news team on pre-production, production, and post-production workflows
• Possess strong skills in Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and After Effects. Proficiency in Illustrator and other Adobe software is a plus
