Movies & TV Listicle Writer

Summary

Join The Escapist as a remote contract writer to contribute to their Movies & TV Listicle coverage. This role focuses on researching pop culture and pitching Top 10 and ranked list stories. You will need excellent English writing skills, a strong ability to pitch ideas, and a deep knowledge of celebrities. Successful candidates will be self-starters who meet deadlines and actively communicate with the editorial team. Two writing samples are required for application consideration. Pay is $15-$75 USD per article, depending on length and type.

Requirements

• Excellent English language writing skills
• Strong ability to pitch story ideas
• Eagerness to learn and incorporate feedback
• Must be a self-starter who can complete pieces in a timely manner and pitch trending ideas
• A strong knowledge of celebrities
• A resume
• A cover letter
• Two clips that demonstrate your ability to write on the aforementioned subjects

Responsibilities

• Research the latest pop. culture conversations and pitch Top 10's and Ranked Lists stories
• Submit relevant Listicles on time under deadline
• Communicate actively with the Editorial Team

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Google Trends
• Experience writing SEO
• Fluency in social media platforms such as TikTok, X, Facebook, etc
