Summary
Join AbbVie as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) and become a field-based scientific expert supporting Hematology/Oncology objectives. This remote role, based in OH, PA, or NY, requires strong scientific knowledge, clinical expertise, and business acumen. Requirements
- Possess an advanced degree in a relevant scientific discipline; a doctorate in a health science or clinical discipline is strongly preferred
- Have significant clinical and/or industry experience in a relevant therapeutic area (may be accepted in lieu of education requirements)
- Have 2 or more years of clinical, scientific/research, or industry-related experience or equivalent
- Possess problem-solving and analytic skills to identify and translate specific territory and corporate needs into actions that achieve objectives

- Meet healthcare industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements (background checks, drug screens, proof of immunization/vaccination)
- Be willing to travel up to 75% of the time
- Live in the territory or be willing to relocate within the territory
Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and maintain high-impact territory plans, including HCP and Investigator engagement plans, aligned with Hematology, Oncology medical and scientific objectives, focusing on quality
- Learn to use data and analytics to identify and maximize opportunities within your territory
- Identify, gain access to, and develop professional, customer-centric relationships with external experts (EEs) in therapeutic areas within your assigned geography
- Deliver on territory plan objectives, meet assigned project deadlines, and achieve annual functional goals
- Generate and document meaningful data point observations (DPOs)
- Practice core capabilities in segmentation, DPOs, and optimal resource utilization
- Ensure compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and Procedures, including accurate and timely documentation of HCP interactions
- Provide education on disease state, therapeutic landscape, and AbbVie products across the product lifecycle to healthcare providers and researchers
- Continuously educate yourself on market issues/trends, product knowledge, and new therapeutic areas of interest related to specific business responsibilities, including creating awareness and relationships for AbbVie in the medical community
- Support research initiatives across development at the request of R&D, including site evaluation and identification, recruitment, investigator meetings, external expert identification, and external collaboration management
- Create, maintain, and collaborate in relationships with cross-functional partnerships, including in-field commercial teams, site management and monitoring, clinical research associates, the Therapeutic Area, HEOR, and Medical Outcome Science Liaisons
- Work with in-field commercial teams to develop and execute Account plans designed to support and meet shared business objectives
