Requirements
- Be appropriately credentialed
- Work currently as a NP
- Possess an earned degree from an accredited institution or recognized by a country's ministry of education in the discipline being taught
- May be expected to be licensed or license-eligible in order to teach in specific programs
- Earned Doctorate
- A record of professional scholarly contributions to their field of specialization
- A minimum of one year experience of teaching in higher education
- Current clinical experience in NP practice
- Commitment to advocating for the learning and development needs of students earning their degrees in a distance learning environment
- Excellent oral and written communication, leadership, team, collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Board Certified FNP
- All NP Faculty are required to obtain RN and APRN licensure in the state of Minnesota and provide evidence of current Advanced Practice certification before being hired as a Nurse Practitioner Faculty at Walden University
Responsibilities
- Educate Walden University students by effectively and proficiently using online technology and resources so that knowledge, information, feedback, and critique are imparted to and shared with students in thoughtful, carefully formulated, well written, and timely communications
- Grade assignments
- Participate in discussions
- Respond to student emails
- Use technology designed to enhance the learning experience for students
- Teach courses using Canvas and interact with students within Canvas
- Be in the classroom a minimum of 4 days/wk and responses to student questions must be posted within 48 hrs
- Maintain their licenses and any appropriate certifications in order to continue to teach at Walden University
- Maintain currency with research by reviewing articles, journals, and presentations
- If participating in research, the Faculty Member may publish and acknowledge Walden University
- When traveling to university events, the faculty member will be expected to fully participate in the event

Benefits
- This position may be eligible for bonus upon hire
- Graduate Course Instruction: $1,560 - $4,080 per Quarter or Semester, depending on type of course taught and length of course
- Undergraduate Course Instruction: $700 - $2,200 per quarter, depending on type of course taught and length of course
- Walden also offers other opportunities for its contributing faculty members, such as dissertation/doctoral study committee chair positions, research reviewing, and dissertation and doctoral study mentoring
- In our U.S. locations, we operate on a hybrid work model with three in-office days and two remote days per week. Starting Q1 2025, we will transition to a four-day in-office schedule, Monday–Thursday
