Successful candidates will possess an earned doctorate, higher education teaching experience, current pharmacist/PharmD or active nurse practitioner practice and scholarship, and a commitment to student success in a distance learning environment. Compensation ranges from $1,560 to $4,080 per quarter/semester for graduate courses and $700 to $2,200 per quarter for undergraduate courses, with potential for additional opportunities.
Requirements
- Earned Doctorate in the field of Pharmacy or Nurse Practitioner degree from an accredited institution
- Current pharmacology patient care experience
- A record of professional scholarly contributions to their field of specialization
- Evidence of current licensure in one of the 50 states in the US
- Have an adequate computer to handle an electronic learning platform, keyboard, pointing device, and computer monitor
- Be able to use Microsoft Office products (MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint), zip software, and Adobe Acrobat
- Have reliable Internet access as well as alternate access in cases where primary access becomes unavailable
- Be appropriately credentialed, possess an earned degree from an accredited institution or recognized by a country's ministry of education in the discipline being taught, and be licensed in order to teach in specific programs
- Maintain their licenses and any appropriate certifications in order to continue to teach at Walden University
- Maintain currency with research by reviewing articles, journals, and presentations
Responsibilities
- Teach advanced pharmacology courses for nurse practitioner students
- Work with other faculty and administrators in the College
- Maintain a program of scholarship and/or practice in the area of their specialty
- Assist with faculty orientation, development, mentoring/monitoring, and evaluation
- Participate in college and university committee service
- Educate Walden University students by effectively and proficiently using online technology and resources
- Interact with students within the Canvas platform
- Be in the classroom a minimum of 4 days per week
- Post responses to student questions within 48 hours
- Verify the accuracy of student postings and submissions
- Provide feedback and grades to students through Canvas
- Publish availability to students through course information
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of one year experience of teaching in higher education
- Recent clinical/practical experience
- Experience with distance learning
Benefits
- Graduate Course Instruction: $1,560 - $4,080 per Quarter or Semester, depending on type of course taught and length of course
- Undergraduate Course Instruction: $700 - $2,200 per quarter, depending on type of course taught and length of course

- Hybrid work model with three in-office days and two remote days per week (transitioning to four in-office days in Q1 2025)
