Network Architect

Summary

IT Concepts is seeking an experienced Network Architect/Engineer for their government customer, CFPB. The role involves transitioning the client's traditional network architecture to a zero trust cloud-centric network and performing various responsibilities related to network design, operation, troubleshooting, and security. The position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 10 years of experience in Enterprise data center, LAN, WAN, SDWAN, Cisco routers, firewalls, network design, multi-router, multi-location, multi-protocol environments, cloud and multi-cloud based networking (AWS and Azure), physical, virtual and software defined networking, monitoring and responding to network performance and integrity, resolving issues escalated by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure, automating tasks and monitoring their effectiveness, creating, overseeing and testing security measures, maintaining complete technical documentation and network architecture diagrams. The position is primarily remote with some travel.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree or additional equivalent experience (4+ years) is required for this position
• Ten (10) years of experience with Enterprise data center, LAN, WAN, SDWAN, Cisco routers, firewalls
• Experience in network design and/or architecture and in a multi-router, multi-location, multi-protocol environments and experience with the operation and troubleshooting networks
• Experience with leading network modernization, cloud and multi-cloud based networking (AWS and Azure)
• Experience in working with physical, virtual and software defined networking
• Experience monitoring and responding to network performance and integrity
• Experience resolving issues tiers of support have escalated by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure
• Experience in automating tasks and monitoring their effectiveness
• Experience creating, overseeing and testing security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery)
• Knowledge of wireless access design and solutioning
• Must be US citizen
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance upon hire

Responsibilities

• Assist/lead client's transition from traditional NW architecture to zero trust cloud centric NW architecture
• Design, document and test additions, enhancements and changes to the network
• Responsible for assessing new data networking technology for applicability to the network
• Provide engineering support to Network Operations for problems within the network
• Provide additional support to multiple teams as required
• Guide personnel through security hardening of systems and provide recommendations based on best practices

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with and knowledge of zero trust and experience leading a network transformation to zero trust architecture, with Zscaler, etc
