Summary

Join Productive Playhouse Inc. as a remote Nuer Transcriber for a project-based contract. This role involves transcribing audio files in Nuer and Thok Naath languages for a talk-to-text technology research project. You will follow provided guidelines, meet deadlines, and communicate with project managers via email. Compensation is $19 per hour, and the workload is flexible, allowing you to work from home. The position requires native-level proficiency in Nuer and Thok Naath, excellent grammar and punctuation skills in those languages, and an Upwork profile (or willingness to create one). A successful candidate will possess strong typing, computer, and web search skills.

Requirements

• Native-level (C2) proficiency in Nuer, Thok Naath, including the ability to read and write
• Excellent grammar/orthography and punctuation in Nuer, Thok Naath
• Have an Upwork profile, or be willing to create an Upwork profile
• High-speed internet access
• Access to e-mail

Responsibilities

• Transcribe all assigned audio files
• Follow project guidelines
• Meet project deadlines
• Make consistent progress on assigned audio files
• Communicate with project managers in a timely and effective manner
• Communicate in English with project managers via email (verbal communication is not required)
