Summary

The job is for a part-time Neuropsychologist to support clinical evaluations for patients in Massachusetts for Scan.com's national virtual TBI assessment service, Braincussion. The role involves working with FDA-approved concussion testing protocols and practices under the guidance of Dr. Doran who has over 30 years of experience.

Requirements

  • Experience in mTBI Assessment: Prior experience conducting assessments and evaluations specifically focused on mild traumatic brain injuries (mTBI), including familiarity with relevant assessment tools and protocols
  • Knowledge of Traumatic Brain Injury: In-depth understanding of the neurobiological, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral effects of traumatic brain injury, particularly mild TBI
  • Proficiency in Neuropsychological Assessment: Strong skills in administering, scoring, and interpreting neuropsychological tests commonly used in mTBI evaluations, such as the RBANS, CNS Vital Signs, and ImPACT
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including neurologists, neurosurgeons, physical therapists, and occupational therapists, to provide comprehensive care to patients with mTBI
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex neuropsychological findings in a clear and understandable manner to patients, their families, and other healthcare providers
  • Continued Professional Development: Commitment to ongoing education and professional development in the field of neuropsychology and traumatic brain injury, including attending conferences and workshops and staying updated on the latest research and best practices
  • Doctoral Degree: PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology or Neuropsychology from an accredited university
  • Completion of APA-Accredited Internship: Successful completion of an internship accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA)
  • Post-Doctoral Training: Completion of a post-doctoral fellowship or training program specifically in neuropsychology
  • Licensure: Current licensure as a psychologist
  • Participation in PSYPACT: Registration and compliance with the requirements of the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT) if applicable, to practice across state lines
