Summary

Join Winrock International's Human Rights, Education & Empowerment division as a New Business Consultant to bolster surge capacity and focus on combating human trafficking and related issues. This 20-hour-per-week, 10-week consultancy involves collaborating with leadership to document the division's theory of change and value offerings, sourcing and vetting donor solicitations, identifying and prioritizing funding companies and foundations, and developing a corporate and foundation engagement strategy. You will also create marketing materials for funders and contribute to securing new funding sources. The role requires a strong background in new business development, particularly with foundations and corporate funders, and experience in international development.

Requirements

  • MA in Business, international development, or other relevant field required
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in new business development, particularly with foundation and corporate funders
  • Demonstrated experience in international development
  • Track record identifying and developing non-federal sources of funding including corporations, foundations and international donors
  • Fluency in English and excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Experience working in developing countries required

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with leadership to document HREE’s theory of change and value offerings
  • Source and vet solicitations released by a variety of federal, international and non-federal donors for prioritization by HREE leadership
  • Conduct a focused assessment to identify and prioritize companies and foundations that fund work similar or related to countering trafficking in persons, unsafe migration, and child labor
  • Lead development of and initiate a corporate and foundation engagement strategy for HREE’s work
  • Create a range of positioning and marketing materials for foundation and private sector funders, including a pitch deck and documentation of service offerings

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with new business in international democracy and governance sector or human rights programs highly desirable
