Summary

Join Axon's NIBRS team as a NIBRS Specialist and collaborate with law enforcement agencies to develop and certify NIBRS-compliant products within Axon's public safety records management system. You will oversee NIBRS requirements, work with stakeholders to develop plans, build state-specific forms, and collaborate with engineering and product teams. Responsibilities include ensuring national and state standards are met, identifying challenges and proposing solutions, validating data, and acting as an internal NIBRS expert. This remote US-based role requires 3+ years of experience in law enforcement technology and a deep understanding of NIBRS submission requirements. Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in Law Enforcement technology
  • Deep level understanding of the National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS) submission requirements
  • Ability to influence cross-functionally to achieve results
  • Strong communication skills (both oral & written)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technical and systems-level solutions for enterprise software
  • Ability to make hard tradeoff assessments
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Must pass a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) background check and maintain confidential and highly sensitive information

Responsibilities

  • Oversee National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) requirements for Axon’s roadmap
  • Work directly with NIBRS state program specialists and agency stakeholders to develop plans and meet requirements
  • Build state-specific forms and work with engineering to guide requirements for state-specific submission service
  • Join Forces with the Product and Engineering team to ensure national and state standards are accurately defined
  • Identify key NIBRS challenges, propose solutions, and seek feedback from leadership and stakeholders
  • Validate data with NIBRS state program specialists and agency stakeholders in support of certification process
  • Act as an additional internal NIBRS expert and consultant to PSO, Sales, Customer Support, and Data Platform
  • Provides ongoing NIBRS training
  • Audit forms and product specification standards
  • Influence peers, advise leaders, coach and mentor junior team members

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) is a plus
  • Experience with other Compliance reporting is a plus
  • Experience with Flat File, XML and/or JSON, the ability to decipher patterns is a plus
