Requirements

  • Must be a continuing college or university student in good standing at an accredited institution pursuing an undergraduate degree in Nuclear Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Data Science, or other related fields
  • Working knowledge of Python programming language, with the ability to write functional code
  • Effective written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to present and communicate concepts and ideas
  • Desire to learn more about the nuclear fuel cycle
  • Eagerness to obtain an understanding of new application areas
  • Exposure through coursework or relevant experience to the nuclear fuel cycle

Responsibilities

  • Work with scientists, engineers, and technical staff members to provide technical research support to a project in computational nuclear engineering
  • Learn to run simulations and visualize the results
  • Produce a user-guide that teaches others to run the simulation
  • Attend meetings, participate in research planning and present your results to the team
  • Perform other duties as assigned
