Nurse Practitioner

Summary

Join PurposeMed as a part-time, remote Nurse Practitioner, providing virtual care to patients in the USA. This independent contractor role offers flexible hours (5-10 per week), with compensation based on work completed. You will deliver virtual care through scheduled consultations and asynchronous tasks, maintain patient records, and collaborate with support teams. The ideal candidate holds a Master's in Nursing, has active NP licenses in at least five states (including NJ or PA), and possesses 2-3 years of primary/urgent care experience. Experience with HIV prevention and the LGBTQ2S+ community is required. While benefits are not included for independent contractors, the role offers a dynamic and adaptable schedule.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in Nursing and Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner diploma
• Active Nurse Practitioner licenses in at least 5 states, with at least one being in New Jersey or Pennsylvania (other preferred states: Missouri, Wisconsin, Louisiana, Kentucky, Utah, Vermont, Kansas or Connecticut)
• 2-3 years of experience in primary/urgent care
• Excellent communication skills and empathetic care delivery
• Experience working in HIV prevention and/or with the LGBTQ2S+ community
• Availability and commitment (ideally daily) to complete asynchronous patient care tasks (reviewing labs, prescribing, and providing follow-up communication) in addition to 5-10 hours per week of live consultations. Please note: The number of hours needed may vary based on the needs of the clinic

Responsibilities

• Delivering inclusive, expert virtual care through scheduled synchronous consultations through our virtual care platform
• Providing asynchronous care to ensure timely and continuous support for patients, including ordering labs and diagnostics, interpreting results, prescribing medication, and clinical follow-up
• Maintaining accurate, detailed patient records in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, using a wide-variety of virtual tools to chart, prescribe and connect with patients
• Driving an outstanding 11/10 star patient experience by serving as a resource for Registered Nurses and working collaboratively with our support teams

• Experience working with gender and sexually diverse communities
• Experience providing virtual care
• Experience working in the private sector, a start-up, or a technology company
• Experience working in an independent or autonomous practice setting
