The Mary Sue is seeking a freelance online culture writer to join their team. The candidate should have significant knowledge of and passion for geek culture, internet culture, streamers, YouTubers, webseries, social media platforms, politics, and more. They will be responsible for building the online culture section and pitching stories on various topics. Required qualifications include being a proud feminist and geek, having a wide range of pop culture interests, being able to write quickly and accurately, SEO experience, familiarity with WordPress/blogging platforms, and availability during business hours. Preferred requirements include links to writing samples and personal websites or portfolios.

Requirements

• Significant knowledge of and passion for geek culture, internet culture, streamers, YouTubers, webseries, social media platforms, politics, and more
• Ability to write quickly and accurately

• Availability during business hours of 9–6PM Eastern
