Online Tutor

Summary

Join Online Education Services (OES) as an Online Tutor and contribute to Aston Online's mission of delivering world-class online learning. You will play a vital role in supporting and guiding MSc Data Science/Analytics students. This 100% remote position offers flexible hours and the chance to utilize your expertise in business analytics, data science, or a related field. Responsibilities include delivering academic content, facilitating student learning, and undertaking assessment tasks. The ideal candidate possesses a MSc or equivalent in a relevant field, teaching experience, and proficiency in analytical tools and programming languages.

Requirements

• Hold a minimum of a MSc or equivalent in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field
• Have experience of teaching and assessing to include PGT
• Have the ability to teach across a range of topics specifically analytical tools and technologies as well as descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics. Proficiency in programming languages and tools commonly used in business analytics, such as Python, R, SQL, and other software is also desirable
• Have high standards and demonstrable impact on students’ learning
• Be motivated by student success and passionate about online learning
• Be a passionate and clear communicator
• Have strong presentation skills and the ability to maintain an engaging and positive online presence
• Be proactive and organised
• Thrive in a remote working environment

Responsibilities

• Provide an exceptional student experience through the delivery of academic content developed by our partner academics and our learning design team
• Facilitate activities that engage and support student learning
• Undertake assessment tasks (including moderation, marking, and feedback) as well as processing and submitting results according to set timelines

Preferred Qualifications

• A PhD in a related discipline
• Relevant industry experience in business analytics or a related field, including practical experience with data analysis, statistical methods, and business intelligence tools
• Experience of using Virtual Learning Environments as learning tools
• Experience of teaching and assessing online programmes
