Summary
Join Team Rubicon as a Manager, Operations (Logistics) and lead a team providing timely execution of domestic and international logistics efforts. This role demands strong logistical planning, multitasking, and a focus on efficiency. You will establish standards and processes throughout the disaster cycle, managing full-time employees, leased employees, and volunteers. The position is remote, based anywhere in the US, and reports to the Director, Mission Support. Expect a challenging yet rewarding experience with opportunities for growth in a rapidly expanding organization. Evening and weekend work is required, and significant travel is expected.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of relevant professional experience in the military, disaster response, emergency management, or first responder fields
- Proven record of personnel management experience such as recruiting, managing, training, and developing employees and volunteers
- Proficient in using technology tools and remote working to communicate and coordinate with a large network of TR staff members, Greyshirts (volunteers), and external stakeholders
- Reliable transportation is required
- This is a full-time; remote position and can be based anywhere within the United States and will support Team Rubicon's operational facilities and provides a flexible & non-traditional work schedule (relocation expenses not provided)
- Evening and weekend schedules supporting leadership meetings, video conferences, events, and operations
- At least 50% non-local travel to support broader organizational activities across geographic responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Manage the Logistics Team, including full-time, leased employees and volunteers, across the continental United States
- Oversee tracking, procurement, and distribution of warehouse equipment and supplies nationwide
- Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and optimize inventory to minimize costs while meeting demand
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, invoices, and other logistics-related documents to ensure smooth operations and compliance with legal requirements
- Oversee and execute all aspects of fleet vehicle management
- Develop, train, and enforce standards, policies, and procedures for the logistics process
- Support the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during activations
- Assist with planning and budgeting according to the national operational tempo
- Work with strategic partners to develop, implement, and execute contracts and Gift-In-Kind donations
- Develop team performance goals and objectives, provide feedback on individual performance, and solicit feedback
