Payroll Analyst

Summary

Join Discord's Payroll team and ensure accurate and timely payment for employees. You will directly impact employee experience and system implementations, contributing to special projects and compliance efforts. Process payroll for multi-state and international employees, audit data, and partner with HR and Finance. Coordinate with various teams to maintain accurate employee data and ensure compliance with regulations. Generate reports, respond to inquiries, and identify areas for process improvement. This role requires 2-4 years of payroll processing experience and a strong understanding of payroll best practices and regulations.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-state environment
• Strong understanding of payroll best practices, tax regulations, and wage and hour laws
• High attention to detail and excellent problem-solving abilities
• Strong communication skills and ability to handle sensitive information with integrity
• Proficiency in various software applications (e.g., Google Suite and Microsoft Excel)

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payroll for multi-state and/or international employees, including new hires, terminations, bonuses, and commissions
• Audit timekeeping and attendance data while maintaining data integrity across multiple systems (e.g., Workday HCM, ADP payroll)
• Partner with HR and Finance on payroll-related journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Coordinate with People Operations, People Tech, and Benefit teams to ensure accurate employee data updates
• Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while supporting year-end processing
• Generate payroll reports for audits and compliance needs
• Respond to payroll-related inquiries and continuously identify areas for process improvement

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ADP Workforce Now; Workday HCM experience is a plus
• Experience with international payroll and equity compensation
• Background working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Familiarity with benefits administration and time tracking integrations
