Requirements

  • Certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing peer support to individuals with SUD
  • Lived experience with substance use recovery, demonstrating a strong personal commitment to the recovery journey
  • Strong understanding of recovery principles, techniques, and best practices such as motivational interviewing, stages of change, and recovery capital
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with members
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and resourcefulness in navigating complex systems of care
  • Proficiency in Google Office Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, etc.)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all member interactions

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one peer support to individuals with SUD, utilizing personal lived experience to motivate members
  • Develop individualized recovery plans in collaboration with members, focusing on their unique strengths and needs
  • Collaborate with clinical and support teams to ensure a comprehensive, integrated approach to member care
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of member interactions, progress, and outcomes
  • Advocate for members, helping them to access necessary resources and services within the community
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in peer recovery support
  • Assist with onboarding and mentoring new team members
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management
