The ideal candidate possesses 2-5 years of experience in performance testing, strong knowledge of various testing tools and methodologies, and a passion for process improvement.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience as a Performance Testing Engineer or SDET
- Experience with Logging, Monitoring and Alerting tools (specifically Rollbar, Loggly, DataDog, Elasticsearch, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of Git and familiarity with the CI/CD process
- Passionate about process and testing structure
- Have a deep understanding of various testing approaches, especially tool-assisted performance and load testing (e.g. Loadmill, Jmeter, LoadRunner, k6, etc.)
- Strong understanding of SQL
- Familiarity with Chaos Engineering, and experience with Chaos Testing
- Experience with Load Testing, in testing for both Stress and Load
- Performance Testing experience or extensive knowledge in performance testing design and strategy with different technologies including relational databases
Responsibilities
- Be embedded in a fully cross functional team working closely with your teammates to determine what needs to be built, identify risks early and apply the appropriate test approach
- Collaborate with Software Architects and Technical Leads on performance-testing framework design, improvements, and tool selection
- Lead/Participate in the constant improvement of our testing practices, i.e. exploratory testing, test charters, session-based test management
- Ability to work closely with engineering and operations teams to dig into logging, monitoring and alerting tools to help understand where we are experiencing vulnerabilities
- Elevate the product team's knowledge in creating performance test plans, approach, metrics, benchmarks, baseline, user response requirements environments, and toolsets to execute the performance and load testing
- Work with our Platform and Systems Engineering teams to design a robust performance-testing environment for production-scale data
- Cross train developers and other testers on good testing practices and techniques
- Participate in discussions on aligning with Product Owners, UX designers, Support and Developers and share perspectives on ensuring testability
- Promote and support the implementation of the CI/CT/CD pipeline for performance tests
- Work with product teams and stakeholders to plan, estimate & implement performance test strategies
- Produce and maintain meaningful reports to establish performance baselines, product health, and testing value
