Summary

Join Dane Street, a leading provider of Utilization Review (UR) services, as a Board-Certified Orthopedic Spine Surgery Specialist. This is a 1099 contract opportunity to conduct independent medical reviews remotely. You will perform objective, evidence-based reviews of spinal treatment requests, providing medical necessity determinations. This is a non-clinical, advisory-only role offering flexible scheduling and workload control. Dane Street provides full support, including training, resources, and a user-friendly online platform. The average case takes only 15-20 minutes to complete.

Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted Illinois Medical License
  • Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery with fellowship training or extensive experience in Spine Surgery
  • Active clinical practice
  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Conduct objective, evidence-based reviews of spinal treatment requests
  • Provide medical necessity determinations and opinions on appealed cases
  • No patient interaction or direct clinical care—this is an advisory-only role
  • Submit reviews through Dane Street’s secure, user-friendly online platform
