Requirements

  • Hands on experience in operations engineer, DevOps, SRE, sysadmin role or academic knowledge
  • 1+ year of industry experience in an IT function, and exposure to Public Cloud services
  • Foundational knowledge of Linux based operating systems
  • Awareness and exposure to programming practices and Software Development Life Cycle models
  • Experience in a common programming language or scripting language (python, ruby, bash, etc)
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as code concepts and languages, Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM etc
  • Knowledge of Git and Git based workflows such as GitOps
  • Advocate of software best practices and Agile SDLC

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to building and enhancing every aspect of SilverRail’s evolving infrastructure and platform as a service
  • Support internal and external customers, and build on key cloud technologies
  • Manage service reliability functions such as monitoring & alerting solutions, latency & load performance, uptime, and error budgets
  • Develop, maintain, and utilise SilverRail’s deployment automation, configuration management, and orchestration systems
  • Design, build, and manage SilverRail’s cloud environments and associated technologies
  • Own the deployment process to ensure streamlined, zero-downtime, and orchestrated service delivery
  • Work with cross functional teams to optimise processes, application development, and customer support
  • On-call responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure and awareness to Container technologies, exposure to Container platforms such Kubernetes (AKS/EKS/GKE/Rancher/Openshift/Anthos) would be beneficial
  • Software development experience is highly valued
