Platform Engineer

Summary

The job is for a Platform Engineer at Vetcove, a growing eCommerce platform for veterinary supplies. The role involves developing, maintaining, and enhancing the platform infrastructure using Python, improving deployment processes, data management, integrating new providers and tools, and implementing CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Several years of professional experience writing Python in production systems
• Experience developing and maintaining deployment infrastructure
• Experience developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

Responsibilities

• Infrastructure & Software Upgrades: Update application code to support the latest infrastructure
• Data Management & Portability: Develop and maintain infrastructure to backup and restore data and build pipelines to stream data to third party analytics tools
• Integrate New Providers and Tools: Identify, evaluate, and integrate new service providers and tools to enhance our platform capabilities
• Develop and Maintain CI/CD Pipelines: Design, implement, and manage robust continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines
• Standardize Development Environments: Implement and enforce standardization of development environments
• Monitor Code and Infrastructure: Leverage monitoring tools to maintain the health and performance of our applications and infrastructure, quickly identifying and resolving issues
• High Availability and Scalability: Plan and implement strategies for high availability, self-healing mechanisms, health checks, and scaling
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
