Podcast Audio Editor

Summary

Join NerdWallet's Brand Studio team as a Mid-Level Podcast Editor on a contract basis (~30 hrs/week). You will play a vital role in crafting high-quality audio content for our podcast series, collaborating with our creative team and clients. Responsibilities include editing and assembling podcast episodes, collaborating with producers and clients, providing creative input, managing multiple edits, and staying updated on industry trends. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in podcast editing and production, proficiency in audio editing software, and strong communication skills. This remote position is open to candidates located anywhere in Canada (excluding Quebec).

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience in podcast editing and production
• Proficiency in audio editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Audacity) Understanding of Riverside a plus
• Experience working with clients and managing expectations effectively
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
• A self-starter with strong organizational skills and a passion for audio editing

Responsibilities

• Edit and assemble podcast episodes, ensuring high audio quality and seamless flow
• Collaborate with producers, hosts, and clients to understand project goals and deliverables
• Provide creative input on content direction and structure, helping to shape narratives
• Manage multiple edits simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards
• Consistently stay on top of tasks, manage priorities, and provide regular updates through wrike, our project management system
• Review and incorporate client feedback to refine final productions
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in podcast production
• Collaborating closely with the editorial team to make key creative decisions, including content selection, music, and sound design, ensuring each episode reaches its full potential and resonates with the audience

Preferred Qualifications

Editorial experience or a background in storytelling

Benefits

• The hourly range for this position is $55-$65 CAD/hour
• This is a remote position and a person can be located anywhere in Canada (with the exception of Quebec)
• This is a W2 contract role hired by Magnit
• The estimated schedule for this engagement would be 32 hours per week from January-December
