Summary

Join Valon's Default Servicing team as a Pre-Foreclosure Specialist and become a subject matter expert in pre-foreclosure processes and compliance. You will manage complex default servicing tasks, ensuring timely and accurate handling of loans. Key responsibilities include monitoring delinquent loans, evaluating foreclosure eligibility, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Collaboration with management on performance data and team functions is crucial. This role demands a proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to balance operational priorities with compliance and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mortgage servicing and default servicing experience, along with a deep understanding of relevant regulations and compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • 3 years of proven mortgage servicing, default servicing, portfolio management, pre-foreclosure knowledge/experience
  • Experience managing Home Equity Lines of Credit (HELOCs) throughout the default and pre-foreclosure lifecycle
  • Comprehensive knowledge of FHA and VA loans, including regulatory and investor-specific requirements for breach, reinstatement, and foreclosure timelines
  • High level of technical expertise to perform any default-specific task as it relates to pre-foreclosure activities
  • Thorough understanding of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
  • Familiarity with state-specific pre-foreclosure requirements and timelines
  • Thorough understanding of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau rules
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest rates, principal balance and late charges
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Outlook and Excel required
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of unique situations
  • Adaptability to process changes and feedback for operational improvements
  • Basic operation of all general office equipment
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Maintains, reviews, and ensures timely and accurate completion of all regularly scheduled pre-foreclosure steps, including breach processing and foreclosure referral preparation
  • Effectively communicates with internal default servicing teams, attorney firms, and external vendors throughout the pre-foreclosure process
  • Performs routine follow-up on a daily basis
  • Prepares and processes bulk breach notices, ensuring compliance with regulatory and investor guidelines
  • Dispositions breach or re-breach requests within established service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Completes pre-foreclosure referral due diligence to ensure compliance with state, federal, and investor requirements
  • Utilizes applicable tools, including system of record, vendor tracking software, and control reporting, to effectively manage the pre-foreclosure pipeline
  • Ensures timely notification and accurate reporting to investors, borrowers, and regulatory agencies during foreclosure referral processes
  • Images and maintains all foreclosure procedural documents in a timely and organized manner
  • Monitors vendor performance and properly notify Department Manager, Vendor Management, Oversight Management, or Client Management when performance issues occur (vendors' inability/failure to comply with investor/insurer procedures and/or CMS requirements)
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned

  • Upholds the quality and integrity of department services by ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and investor guidelines
