Requirements
- BS degree or equivalent in CS or a related Engineering Field
- 8-10 years experience in software engineering management including knowledge of software design principles and leading software development practices (Agile/DevOps)
- Experience in coaching line managers
- Strong track record of getting things done
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Experience leading by influence
Responsibilities
- Work with the product management team to deliver on the product vision and feature priorities
- Identify patterns, roadblocks, and issues while they are emerging, provide solutions, and ensure the development process moves forward swiftly
- Provide tradeoff recommendations to Engineering leadership on navigating resources, risks, and sustainability for your product area
- Guide the development team on responsibilities, including shepherding day-to-day design decisions and product roadmap progress while encouraging healthy work-life balance
- Shepherd the team on long-term architectural choices and setting technical direction for multiple teams that own software to meet larger business or organizational goals
Preferred Qualifications
- Managed teams that have delivered customer-facing features through design, architecture, and development
- Knowledge of networking, networking protocols and cyber security
- Experience in API development and database design (PostgresSQL)
- Experience around containers and related technologies (Kubernetes / Docker / HashiCorp - Packer, Vault, and Terraform / etc.)
- Experience with building and scaling distributed, highly available systems
