Principal KYC Analyst

Summary

The job is for a Principal, KYC role at Circle, a financial technology company focusing on blockchain-based digital currency. The employee will conduct complex reviews and projects in Circle’s KYC team, reviewing risk of money laundering, financial crimes, and terrorist financing, and ensuring compliance with regulatory expectations.

Requirements

• B.A./B.S. degree; quantitative or technical degree a plus
• 10+ years of relevant experience in AML and KYC reviews for crypto or financial institutions
• A passion for harnessing the power of digital currency and blockchain technology and services built on top of it
• First-class investigative capabilities and problem-solving skills
• A get things done mindset, able to think strategically and take initiative to move forward tactically
• Experience collaborating cross functionally and driving results while working with a wide variety of stakeholders
• An innovative and creative mind looking to suggest new solutions to old problems
• Proven experience working collaboratively and effectively with the ability to work with multiple stakeholders and internal teams
• Experience and comfort working in an ever changing industry and the flexibility to quickly react to changing demands
• Strong leadership, relationship management skills and executive presence with an ability to influence
• Excellent communication skills and presence, ability to interface with internal and external teams
• Work effectively in a fully remote environment with teams spanning multiple time-zones (our team is across the US, Europe & Taiwan). You have experience/familiarity with Slack, Apple MacOS and GSuite

Responsibilities

• Reviewing complex customer assessments for risk of money laundering, financial crimes and terrorist financing
• Managing monitoring customers under specialized diligence reviews, develop relationship with counterparty and assess controls
• Oversight of complex account relationships, including a holistic review of customer relationship, transactions and customer provided information
• Partnering with key internal stakeholders including business teams and other control functions to monitor client relationships on an ongoing basis and ensure compliance with regulatory expectations
• Reviewing risk based business actions to be taken to onboard customer and/or on-going monitoring
• Reviewing written reports of findings, including comprehensive details, narratives and recommendations
• Providing guidance to Business and acting as a point of escalation for complex issues with highly creative solutions
• Closely following regulatory, compliance, and enforcement developments in the cryptocurrency

Preferred Qualifications

• Presenting to regulators, examiners and auditors performing reviews of the Compliance program
• CAMS, CFCS or CFE certification is a plus

Benefits

• Base Pay Range: $160,000 - $207,500
• Annual Bonus Target: 17.5%
