Summary

Join Docker's remote-first team as a Principal Product Manager to lead the Docker Desktop product. You will define and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, collaborating with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer success teams. This role demands strategic thinking and tactical execution, requiring a deep understanding of developer workflows and containerization. You will engage directly with customers, analyze product performance, and stay updated on industry trends. Success involves achieving significant milestones in product development and user satisfaction. The position offers a balance of strategic leadership and hands-on product management.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of product management experience
  • Proven track record of managing complex desktop applications across multiple platforms (Windows, macOS, Linux)
  • Strong technical background, with familiarity in container technologies, developer tools, and system-level software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams
  • Experience working in a remote-first, globally distributed team environment

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Docker Desktop, aligning with company objectives and customer needs
  • Engage directly with customers to gather feedback, understand pain points, and validate solutions
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to deliver high-quality features and improvements on time and within scope
  • Analyze product performance metrics to inform decisions and optimize user experience
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to inform product strategy
  • Communicate product plans, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders across the organization
